Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Pakistan

Association of pediatric surgeons of Pakistan is the official forum of the Pediatric Surgeons of Pakistan. It is one of the most vibrant associations in the country and holds regular national, international meetings and conferences to keep track of pediatric surgery services update and advances in the field of pediatric surgery. Regular workshops are also part of the development plan of pediatric surgical services especially minimally invasive surgery. We all work together to ensure world class pediatric surgery services to the pediatric population of the country.

APSP Election 2025

Revised Procedure & Schedule

Announcement of Election (Revised)

This is a revised formal announcement of APSP Election 2025.

Elections will be for the offices of:

  • President (Elect)
  • General Secretary/Treasurer (He/She will work during the tenure of President Dr Amjad Chaudhary)

Eligibility: Only full members of APSP in good standing.

The last date for clearing membership dues is October 10, 2025. Members clearing dues after this date will not be eligible to be a candidate, proposer, or voter.

ONLY Full-Members including Life-Members are eligible for particepation in election. APSP office staff and office bearars will secrutinze and varify membership objectively e.g., PMDC registeration, FCPS, MS and othe recognised postgraduate diploma/degree; for eligibility as per constitution, from October 11-19, 2025 and will provide authenticated voting list to Election Commission (EC). 0n October 20, 2025 EC will publicise the Final Voting list on Association’s Web page. In case there is an objection memebers can notify within 3 days to Sacretary APSP by email. Otherwise the Voting list will be locked by EC.

Call for Nominations

October 25 - 30, 2025

Required Documents:

  • One-page CV outlining Professional Background, key achievements in Education, Clinical services, Adminstration and reserch including;
  • A Vision statement by candidates delineating their views about future of APSP and Pediatric Surgery in Pakistan (These will be posted on APSP website and Ballot )
  • Consent letter
  • Passport size photograph
  • Endorsement by two proposers (members in good standing) with names, signatures, and contact detailsNominations must be submitted on the official APSP proforma, available from Mr. Nasir Shamshad, Secretary APSP

Scrutiny & Validation

The Election Commission will review submitted nominations to ensure eligibility and completeness.

  • Nov 5: Validated candidates list will posted on Association web page
  • Nov 7: Appeals deadline
  • Nov 9: Withdrawal of nominations
  • Nov 10: Final list of candidates will be published on APSP website

Campaign Period (Optional)

Candidates and their supporters can campaign in a decent and professional manner. Use of official plateforms of APSP is NOT allowed;

Permissible modes include:

  • Social Media
  • Electronic Media e.g., emails and
  • Personal contacts

Use of official platforms of APSP is NOT allowed

Election / Voting

Voting will be conducted online

Guidelines will be sent to voting members by email from the APSP Secretary, Mr. Nasir Shamshad.

November 15 - 20, 2025

Results Announcement

Final results will be announced in the forthcoming General Body Meeting

A formal communication from Election Commission will be sent by an email, and results will be posted on the APSP website.
